Michigan Moment: Ultra Vanity Fair

I had set out in a blustery cold January snowstorm intending to make a close-up photograph of a friend’s horse. That particular horse was in a frisky mood and would not cooperate. In frustration, I turned around to leave, knowing I had not made a good photo yet that day. As I looked up, I saw this lone horse out in the distance trudging through the snow. Only having one shot left in my camera, I carefully composed this photograph just as the horse was taking a step. I did not realize it at that moment, but I believe this is one of the best photographs I have made in my lifetime.
