John Dykstra

John Dykstra - Hudsonville, MI

John has hours and hours of experience traveling with groups to photography destinations such as the Pacific Northwest, Tucson, Bosque del Apache and Turkey Run State Park. He is an experienced instructor of photography that will help any photographer get great shots including looking for the right background, action and framing a photo.

Photography has always been an interest for John. More than thirty-five years ago, he joined a local camera club, and has since won many trophies and awards. He has photographed several special request sessions for radio station WCSG which included the WCSG staff, Pam Thum, and Scott Krippayne, Calvin Hunt and Insights for Living’s Chuck Swindol.

John travels extensively across the United States to photograph many wonders of this beautiful country. There are always those favorite places that seem to beckon a return visit. His creative eye and technical expertise makes unique and pleasing compositions. John can see poetry in all of creation; from small, delicate flowers and butterflies to grand mountains and landscapes; patterns are everywhere as the Creator reflects himself in all creation. His desire is to capture the ambiance of  the first light filtering through early morning mist, gracefully floating and lifting from the surface of a remote lake in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula; or the red evening sun setting over ever-shifting sand dunes highlighting wind blown ripples; the feeling of solitude while standing among giant sentinels of a woods or forest while they guard their kingdom below. The natural world has endless compositions for those who take the time to search them out.

John’s wife Bev, is an important part of their photo business and assists on many of the photography sessions. Over the past years, they have photographed hundreds of high school seniors. They use many creative and unique props, including several beautiful outdoor possibilities on 4 acres of park-like grounds. Their ultimate goal is for their clients to have a great time and receive images that capture the special times in their lives like no other. Their relaxed style is much appreciated, and many enjoy the creative and sensitive atmosphere they bring to each individual photograph.
